Update: Jan 4. I figured out what the problem was. I believe I had the shift cam upside down. So the nuetral switch activating nub on the cam was at 6 Oclock instead of 12(approx). The tip I should have known when putting gear set in case should have been: "Line up the nuetral nub on the shift cam with the hole on the case where the nuetral switch is".

UPDATE: Jan.8,2004: Progress on bike dropped for a bit. I put the cylinders and heads on tonight only to find the cylinder bolt that started this whole mess has come out of the case. Ready to throw the bike out the window I quickly decide to jb weld it in and forget about it. The threads tapped into the case are stripped. There should not be a problem with a gentle hand on the ratchet after the weld dries for 48 hours. After that its just a matter of putting the alternator, clutch, kickstart and shifting mechanisms and side covers.

Update: Thursday January 15,2004...IT"s ALIVE!!!! Once again the little bike runs. As soon as I get a masterlink for the chain the bike should be road worthy. I converted this bike to run on premix so there is no doubt in my mind it is getting the oil it needs. Also since I stripped the bike of its airbox,I will need some foam pod filters.

Update Jan 16,04.....As stated when we bought the bike the voltage regulater was missing. So it was replaced with a used one. The system is still not charging. Now comes the awful task of finding the electrical problem. Untul fixed the bike runs untul the lights drain the battery. After all this work into this bike and it still remains a pain in the A55.

Update: Jan 16 (Evening) Road Test: Put the stock handle bars back on the bike and went out and rode the thing. It was good to finally feel the power of the little bike. I was impressed the bike had the power to do a wheelie during wheelspin coming out of a doughnut performed in my back yard. After mildly beating it around the yard a while I decided to try it on the road. Nice cruise at 45 mph. The front end is very stable for a light smaller bike. Seems this little turd will finally earn it's place in the garage. Fun little bike. BUT IT STILL DOES NOT CHARGE WHEN ALL ELECTRICS CHECK OUT PER MANUAL!!!!
